Rudiment is a rhythm training app made by Thermalsock Labs. This policy explains, plainly, what happens with your data when you use it.
Rudiment does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind — inside the app or across other apps and websites.
Rudiment stores some information locally, on your device only, so the app works the way you'd expect:
None of this ever leaves your device or gets sent to us or anyone else. It's stored using standard iOS mechanisms (UserDefaults and your device's local file storage) purely so the app remembers your progress between sessions.
If you turn on Acoustic Mode, Rudiment uses your device's microphone to detect drum hits from a real kit (kick, snare, and closed hihat). This audio is processed entirely on your device, in real time, to judge your timing — it is never recorded, saved, transmitted, or stored anywhere. Microphone access is only active while Acoustic Mode is turned on, and only for as long as you're using it.
In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Rudiment doesn't see or store your payment information — that's handled by Apple according to Apple's own privacy practices.
Rudiment does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No data about you or your usage of the app is shared with anyone.
Rudiment does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from anyone at all.
If this policy ever changes, an updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "last updated" date.
